From the Beginning

Mariel’s passion for financial planning started early when she was introduced to the financial industry in her high school business program. Her drive to make a financial difference in the lives of individuals and families led her to study financial planning in college. Mariel has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIALPLANNER™ designation and received her degree in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Economics, a Certificate in Financial Planning and a Certificate in International Trade and Agriculture from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Mariel Braun, CFP®​

Mariel is a co-founder and partner for Bellwether Advisory Group. Prior to founding the firm, Mariel served as a senior wealth advisor for Baker Tilly Wealth Management (BTWM) where she designed comprehensive, tax-efficient, wealth solutions to meet her high net worth clients unique needs. Mariel was also instrumental in the establishment of BTWM and led the operational efforts during part of her tenure at the firm. Prior to that, she held a national role as a senior guidance specialist for United Capital Financial Advisors (UCFA). Mariel focused on evaluating clients’ financial positions and making recommendations enabling the clients to achieve their goals. 

As a CFP®, Mariel actively helps families, executives and business owners build, manage, protect and transition their wealth through integrated financial planning. She has extensive experience guiding clients through all of life’s situations and focuses on creating plans that accomplish her client’s goals in a tax-efficient manner.

Outside of the office, Mariel enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Mariel is active in her church, Memorial Drive Presbyterian, and currently serves as an Elder for Local Outreach. She actively gives back to the Financial Planning Program at Texas A&M because she credits the program and people for making a tremendous impact on her both personally and professionally. In Fall of 2023, Mariel was awarded the Jeanie Long-Izurieta ‘07 Selfless Service Award by the Texas A&M Financial Planning program.
